How many times have you heard it said that babies don't come with an instruction manual?  It is a surreal moment when you bring your little one home for the first time--now what?

​

Our HandUp Program helps you prepare.  It is a dvd-driven parenting education program that allows you to earn points for baby furniture.  Everything we do is free, but you must earn points through the HandUp program to receive baby furniture such as cribs, pack-n-plays, strollers, swings, and highchairs.  Our classes cover everything from conception all the way through the toddler years of toilet training and everything in between.  For our Spanish-speaking clients, we have a one-on-one parenting course in place of the dvd course.  Appointments required.

Our course meets the requirements of court-ordered parenting classes for parents of babies up through 3 years of age.

We refer to a number of local agencies that provide additional support in the areas of healthcare, medicaid coverage, WIC, adoption, food assistance, housing, clothing, and spiritual guidance.

We do not provide or refer for abortions.

We recognize that parenting is not for everyone, but there is no such thing as an unwanted pregnancy--unplanned maybe, but not unwanted.  According to the last statistics we could find, for every baby adopted, there are 36 more sets of parents waiting in line to adopt a baby.  You could be carrying the answer to someone else's prayer.  And, if you just aren't sure, you have the opportunity to make an adoption plan and then change your mind.

Becoming pregnant is not the worst unexpected thing that can happen to the person who becomes sexually active outside of a committed marriage relationship.  There are more than 20 known types of STIs, (some sources say more than 30)--several of which are incurable.  But you can avoid this risk altogether.  We can tell you how.
